OCD Mind and Body
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) may be defined as the presence of obsession
and/or compulsions to a point that they are disruptive to a person’s life. ... OCD is an anxiety disorder that
can start at any age although most commonly in childhood, adolescence or early adulthood.
Depression frequently occurs with OCD. Most people say that they are depressed because of the
OCD; this is called secondary depression.
OCD is caused by a brain chemical imbalance. Back long years ago, people would go to
the doctor with OCD and depression and the doctor would prescribe and antidepressant for the
depression, but there was nothing to relieve the OCD.
