Racism can be found, not only among two races, where one believes it is superior to the other, but also within one race, where its people are separated by minor beliefs that grow into full fledged discriminations. It is hard to decide which type of prejudice is worse. On one hand racism between two races is often brought on by the lack of knowledge about the other race, it is upsetting to imagine the horrors a lack of education can bring on certain groups of people, merely because of their skin color or ethnical background. However, it is even more upsetting to see one within his own race discriminating those of another sect or with differing values. It is no longer the lack of knowledge that is instigating this unfairness, but pure hatred. It is distressing enough to acknowledge that racism is present and that people can be as unfair and heartless as they sometimes are but, it is even more distressing to accept the fact that many a times people cast these same punishments upon their own race. Since racism is present between races it would only make sense that people within the same race would, at least, unify against the prejudices cast upon them, however, such is not the case. The book The Chosen exhibit the afore mentioned type of racism, the type that takes place within one race.
