Myth, magic, and miracles, freaks, Saints, and devils- that is the world of wonders unleashed by a single snowball thrown in the village of Deptford in 1908. It is amazing how one thing, one decision; one moment in a person’s life can be the building blocks for the future. A decision that would determine life or death, the throwing of a snowball, guilt, a weird attraction, and the reading of a book to someone in need are all defining factors in the life of Dunny Ramsey. The way one acts in his or her life greatly affects you in the long run. Ones character/ personality creates your destiny/ outcome. Ones actions whether they are positive or negative will ultimately have an impact on your life in the long run. Dunny joined the army during World War One, even though Dunny was not as brave as people thought he was, the fact of the matter is, he still did what he did. The significance of the nature of Dunny’s heroism, shooting the men in the back- life isn’t always fair, at times it requires behaviour that isn’t nice, isn’t popular or isn’t sweet, but it will affect the way your life will turn out. If Dunny did not join the war than he would not have received the Victorian Cross and would not have become known for his courage and bravery during World War One. Ones actions can lead to different emotions, which also are a great factor in creating your destiny and overall outcome in life.
