COMMENTARY ON PLANS REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF DIAMOND HOTEL I read your article last 2 July 2003 about the construction of Diamond Hotel in Simi Valley. I personally find this plan a good project. I also think that the benefits of building the hotel will outweigh the disadvantages. Firstly, I tried to consider and think about its effects on the local people. There may be some inconvenience to the residents but since the density of the people living in Simi Valley is less, compared to other places in Singapore, less people would be affected. I am also sure that the construction company—Singapore Builders, would ensure the safety of people and make sure that they would not cause harm to the residents of that area. As you mentioned in your article, that as soon as the project is approved and construction begins, the site would be fenced immediately, so danger should not be a worry to the residents and pedestrians who walk along the road near the site every morning.
