Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, in 1809. ... One of his most famous short stories is “A Tell-Tale Heart.” Poe shows his great strength as a writer by using different forms of diction, figurative language, and symbolism.
In “A Tell-Tale Heart” Poe, writes about a crazed man who is infatuated by an old man’s hideous eye. ... After several minutes the loud heart beat stops. ... The crazed man thinks he hears the heart beating and rips up the floor to expose the dead body.
I feel that Edgar Allan Poe uses both informal and concrete diction in “A Tell-Tale Heart”.
