Implications of Communication Theories A video game is composed of many implications that can effect a players behavior while engaged in game play. Communication theories give ideas about the way people interact with each other in their everyday lives. There are many ideas that can be seen as either good or bad that are implied through video games. Violence and antisocial disorders are seen as two problems that may be enhanced through the playing of video games, while technique and education are two supportive things with which video games are sometimes credited. The Social learning theory is a theory that focuses on the learning that occurs within a social situation. It believes that people learn from things such as friends, family, and the media. Through observations, imitations, and modeling, people can adapt to a behavior in which they have been subjected (Huitt). Television shows, magazines, and most commonly Commercials are seen as having a high level of this kind of persuasive learning.
