History of Astrology Astrology is in no comparison to Astronomy except for the night sky. The first people who created Astrology were the Mayans. The Mayans were a very complex group of people who lived on Earth hundreds of years before our civilization. I research some of the Mayan culture and found that their civilization was very advanced in comparison to today’s modern world. The Mayans developed many inventions, such as: language, mathematics, and astronomy. The Mayan civilization roamed what is now South America in B.C. times. The cosmology of the Mayans was a living philosophy that allowed their lives to a point that might seem excessive to modern people today. The Mayans were observers and sensitive to the natural sun, moon, and planets. This culture roamed the Earth of many decades. The Mayans had a form of government and a culture that operated like the culture that we live in today. The culture expanded into separate cities which were under the supervision of a central form of government. These cities were very well constructed. As well as the fine arts of sculptures and paintings their existence of literature and development of handicraft were the outer expression of this cultures economic rise. This civilization functioned perfectly until one day, according to the history books, just disappeared. When I researched this topic I found that there was no record of the decline or disappearance of the Mayan culture. According to the stars the Mayans predicted when the decline of their and our civilization would occur. The Mayans purpose that in the year 2012 our civilization would come to an end. The Mayan’s Astronomy was very complex and accurate. The Mayans used Astronomy to determine the dates and years that occurred. The Mayan culture did not face the same problem as our culture does today. The topic of light pollution was not an issue because of a lack of technology. There was no artificial light pollution that existed in those times, so the stars were very clear at night. Unlike our interest in western astronomy, the Mayans were curious in what they call the Zenial Passages. This topic was about the Sun, and when it crossed over the Maya latitudes.
