My entire life growing up, my family has always been very close. Every Sunday following church we always barbequed and went swimming. I can’t remember a holiday with out our family getting together. We used any excuse to get together, and we always had fun. I being the baby of the family, was always center of attention. As you can imagine I became especially close to one of my older cousins, Dawnyelle is my oldest cousin on my mom’s side. She was thirteen when I was born, but despite the age difference, we always clicked. Whenever I didn’t have plans on the weekend I would spend the night with Dawnyelle, we became very close. On Easter of 2001 I was sixteen years old, we were all at my Uncle Gary’s house and Dawnyelle and her husband John, stood up and said they had an announcement to make. Dawnyelle followed with, “John and I are pregnant.” I was so excited, that is all I thought about for the next nine months . I went to every doctor’s appointment with them, and I was able to see the sonogram picture be take and I heard the first heart beat. I even got to help decide the names. It would be Savanna Lynn if it was a girl and Noah Michael if it was a boy. It was the greatest thing that had happened in my life up to that point. It also let me have a very close bond with my little cousin. As you can imagine I was very excited at the idea of my closest cousin having a baby.
