Illustrative Essay Wanting more than we need can be destructive. This thesis interests me because I have seen it occur in many people including myself. Everybody has desires and wants. The question we have to ask ourselves is, “Do we actually need this or do we just want it?” For example, I had a friend who had a lease on a brand new Expedition. The SUV was very expensive and by using all of his money from work to pay the lease he could not afford anything else. He didn’t have to use his money on the most expensive car. He could have afforded something less expensive that he could keep. When the lease ended he had to return the Expedition to the dealer.
