The story cathedral is written by Raymond Carver. He was born in 1938 Clatskanie a logging town in Oregon. The story starts with the explanation about a blind man (Robert) who is a friend of story teller’s (bub) wife. Bub’s wife has worked for this blind man named Robert in his office as a secretary , but when she quit the job they didn’t had a chance to meet but they were in contact by sending tapes to each other, and now after a very long time Robert came to meet her. Robert was different kind of a blind person for Bub, maybe because for him it was the first time to have a blind person as his guest . Robert wasn’t wearing any black glasses as usually blind people do, mostly blind people don’t smoke because they cannot see the smoke they exhale but Robert smoke like any normal person , he drink a lot, and etc.
