"Great leaders are those who strive for the betterment of mankind. ... One such important tool is public opinion, which refers to the views on the general population on anything from goverment policies to the state of the common parks. Therefore, i maintain that for a leader to be successful he has to go by public opinion to a fair extent. however, there remain many context where public opinion cannot take priority in determiing a leaders actions. ... Eg Singapore-members oif the parliament and constituency leaders serve as a bridge betweem the public and the govt. Hence, it is acceptable to say that the actions of the leaders should be determjinded by public opinion.
Secondly, public opinion is a form of criticism of the ruling govt and so gives leaders a means of gauging their success and knowing if they r goin in the right direction.
