Polydectes, who is his caretaker asked him to slay Medusa. 3. Perseus uses his shield as a mirror and never actually looks at Medusa when he slays her. 4. Andromeda’s parents were forced to sacrifice her but Perseus rescued her. 5. Perseus uses her head to turn Phineas’ men into stone.
