Dead Poets Society

The year is 1959. Summer is over, and the boys are ready to go back to school. Neil has gotten the new kid, Todd Anderson, as his roommate. Todd doesn’t feel secure at this private boys’ school, particularly because his brother went there, and left Little Anderson very big shoes to fill. Neil and Todd’s class gets a new English teacher this year, because the one they had the year before, passed away. The new teacher soon shows the pupils that he’s quite extraordinary. He does a lot of strange things; tells the students to rip out different pages in their book, asks them not to call him “sir” or “Mr.Keating”, but “Oh Captain, My Captain”, and he makes them believe pictures of old students hanging on the wall are whispering “Carpe Diem – Seize the day!” to the boys.
