Does my Child Need HELP?? Q: I have a daughter that is 2 ½ and she is very limited on her words. Should I be worried? A: Well... At 2 ½ your child should be on her way to learning more and more. There is a list of things that your child should be able to do at your daughter’s age language wise. Such as, can name a number of objects common to her surroundings, is able to use at least two prepositions usually in, on, or under, combines words into a short sentence, vocabulary of approximately 150-300 words, rhythm and fluency often poor volume and pitch of voice is not yet well-controlled, can use two pronouns correctly: I, me, you, My and mine are beginning to emerge, responds to such commands as "show me your eyes (nose, mouth, hair)".
