In a western society the onset of puberty generally represents a starting point of adolescence, According to Taylor et al (1995) the onset of puberty cannot be dated exactly it is said to usually occur between the age of 10-16 years, the problems with defining this period to age suggests an abrupt starting and ending point and because the duration of puberty varies greatly from one person to the next, adolescence should be defined to development rather than age. ...
