How often are we in the middle of a struggle, trying to get an undertaking or objective achieved, when we just want to give up. "There is no way I can accomplish this," we say to ourselves. "I'm just not going to be successful." Whether you are a sales professional attacking away at an account, an individual in transition looking for that next opportunity, or an entrepreneur seeking to be financed, there are times when you want to throw in the towel. This happens to all of us. Nobody is immune from these feelings—feelings of discouragement when the odds seemed stacked against us.As Napoleon Hill says in his famous quote, "Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit." Like Henry Ford said, "Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and griefs which we endure help us in our marching onward." While it would be easier to slide through life without a purpose, it would not be fulfilling.
