Prostate Cancer
This year my father turned the age of fifty two. ... He had to go get his prostate checked.
I had no Idea what prostate or prostate cancer was. ... Prostate is a small gland found only in guys. ... The prostate produces semen, a thick white fluid, which mixes the sperm produced by the testes. It also produces a protein called prostate specific antigen which turns the semen into liquid. The growth of prostate cells and the way the prostate gland works depends on the male sex hormone, testosterone, this is produced in the testicles. The rectum is close to the rear part of the prostate gland.
Prostate Cancer usually affects men over the age of fifty years. Its different from other cancers, because small areas of cancer within the prostate are very common and may remain unchanged for some time before they begin to grow.
