The Effects of the First impression
Introduction
Nowadays, we live in a highly competitive world, in which developing strong relationships with others is one of the most important skills which we have to master. Indeed, we need to make a good first impression to get a prestigious job, to create a thriving business, and to be more social. ... To develop a strong relationship, an individual has to have the right beginning, which is making a good first impression. Therefore, it has been said, “You will never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Thus, we have to understand the importance of the first impression, to recognize how people evaluate others in order to leave a favorable impression.
In order to discover the secrets of the first impression, we surveyed twenty-five students at AUS. ... We also interviewed Carol Houser, the Director of Community Relations at AUS, and Raid Al-Ghimdi, one of the most important student leaders at AUS and the ex-president of the Saudi Club at the American University of Sharjah, to understand how to develop a good impression in the business world (see appendix 2). ... ”

Amazingly, all the surveyed females agree that presenting yourself in an attractive way leads them to create a good first impression. They thought that presenting yourself in a good way always creates a favorable first impression. On the other hand, sixty two percent, of male students surveyed agree that if a person presents himself in respectful way, the individual can leave a nice first impression. ... " Clarke, referring to this phenomenon, said, "If an individual tries to leave a good first impression he become as an actor or actress; therefore, people feel this is not his nature which leads that person to be not trustworthy."
Forever
Another controversial question is whether the first impression is an everlasting one or if it may change. General opinion, ninety percent, about “a change of heart” was that an individual may change his or her first impression after he or she knows the other person more. ... " On the other hand, about ten percent of the students surveyed agreed that the first impression is everlasting. A Syrian male said, "If the first impression is negative, it is difficult to find another chance to correct it.
