We will be surveying two-hundred people in the Lake City area to find out if people think that the legal drinking age should be raised, lowered, or remain the same. We believe that out of our survey results fifteen percent or more of the people in this area will want the drinking age raised to twenty five years of age. ... There are a lot of strict Baptist, Pentecostal and Non-Denominational churches in Salt Lake City that think the drinking age should be raised. ... We believe that if you stop younger kids from drinking alcohol it will be come less of a craving as they get older. Our group thinks that people will want the drinking age raised because ideally when you are older you are more responsible.
There are also very general reasons for raising the legal drinking age. Some of these would be; drinking and driving, health complications and even death. ...
Starting to drink at an early age can cause liver sclerosis, eat away at your stomach lining, and even damage your central nervous system before you hit twenty-five. ... By raising the drinking age we would limit the supply of alcohol that minors can acquire. For these reasons we think the drinking age should be raised. ...
The Activity
In order to find out what the people felt about the raising the drinking age we started to survey people. The first questions we asked involved age and gender, we wanted to know how different ages and genders would affect our results.
