Problem thesis: In what extent is peer pressure an important factor leading to alcohol- and drug abuse among Norwegian teens today?
Everyone’s heard of peer pressure, whether in relation to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or something as simple as clothing. ... Is it even realistic to describe a youth culture where peer pressure is existent, in the understanding that one is literally pressured into doing something one otherwise would not have done? ... The vast majority of our parental generation think that peer pressure is one of the leading causes for young people turning to drugs. And seeing that the vast majority of them also think that we get drunk or more frequently than they did themselves, peer pressure should also be an increasing problem, right? ... But it is a more and more popular trend to throw gallons of petrol on top of the bonfire of a myth that teenagers’ alcohol consumption is an increasing one.
