Strong parenting and nightly family discussions around the dinner table prepared Bill well for a broadcasting career more successful than even his own mother could have imagined. The night discussions also influenced him into stating his opinions even though they may be controversial. From his teenage business mowing lawns, Bill graduated to house painting and life guarding. He has had a lifelong interest in sports. Bill was a goalie for his highschool ice hockey team. And played as a quarterback , punter and place kicker and even enjoyed a brief career as a semi-pro baseball pitcher. During his studies in school, he excelled in his English and public speaking and debate classes. He wrote news articles for his school newspaper and was active in his school politics as well. He always had a strong opinion and let people know it. He enjoyed debating even with his parents. Bill O’Reilly is the most watched new anchor for cable television because of his strong opinions. Began television-broadcasting career in Scranton, PA at WNEP-TV. His hard hitting style and nonstop work ethics allowed him to work his way up the broadcasting casting ladder in the following years. Bill always had a certain undescribable edge to his work. He never hid his feelings on an issue.
