Three of the main themes on the short story Of Mice and Men are hate, companionship, and dreams. These crucially impact the story and help to describe their life. Without these themes there would be no story. Dreams is a major theme is this story that keeps on reoccurring. For example George and Lennie’s dream is to own a farm of their own. This show that they push through people being mean to them to accomplish this. This also shows that they plan to be friends for a long time. Another example is when Curley’s wife is talking about movies and musicals she could have been in. This also shows that she just wants glamorous things.
