... Our country shouldn’t go to war with Iraq for several reasons. Three reasons that the United States shouldn’t go to war with Iraq include Iraq not posing as a clear and present threat, the invasion will be costly and take away from our needed resources, and there seems no to be no exact justification for going to war. ...
Secondly, the United States cannot afford to go to war. ... It would be unnecessary for American taxpayers to pay for this unneeded war, when we could put our money towards more useful causes such as our nation’s education system to expand learning resources and paying our educators for the amount they deserve. ... Some of those billions, yes billions, spent on the war could go to help ensure that everyone in this country can afford healthcare. ...
Finally, there seems to be no justification for us to go to war. ... We also have no right in saying that we do not tolerate the usage of chemical weapons by Iraq when we tolerated it during the war between Iran and Iraq.
There has been no attack on our country from Iraq, no Iraqi threat of war, and there seems to be no connection of the attacks of 9/11 and Iraq. War should be an act of self-defense, and it seems clear that the Bush administration is using war as an act of aggression, the wrong reason.
