If I were to give the book Beloved an award, it would be the best fictional novel for exploring the most themes, and delivering these themes through all of the characters. ...
The first chapter in Beloved really pulled the reader in, in so many ways. ... She did seem she wanted someone to have a family connection with her, and that someone was Beloved. She always reminded Beloved never to leave, I feel family was one of the more significant themes because personal and universal connection were easy to make.
