A Lesson in Life Though I am only seventeen years old, I feel that I have the wisdom of a grown man. I believe that wisdom does come with age, but that it also comes with experience. There are many lessons that I have yet to learn, but I have also experienced things that no other teenager should ever have to go through. In my heart I think that all of these experiences, the good and the bad, have made me a much better person and I am very thankful for that. Through it all the Lord has been there for me, and I would never want it to be any other way. Now with these experiences come some of my basic values: my rules to live by. One of these is that you should treat people the way that you would want to be treated. Some people call it “The Golden Rule,” but I just call it my G-code. I had learned about this at an early age, but I never really thought about its true meaning. It was not until I was almost sixteen years old that I learned a lesson that would last me a lifetime. I was in the passenger seat of the family car; heading down to the local Walgreen’s in Lehigh. I liked going to Walgreen’s because I got to look at the comic books, and I would almost always get my dad to buy me some candy. I also had a friend named Warren who worked there, who I would talk to whenever he was working.
