Forensic Nurse Death Investigator SUMMARY: This position is responsible for complex death scene investigations; responsibility for the death evaluation at a scene; uses various types of equipment; responsible for physical evidence being sent for scientific evaluation and comparison; prepare written reports for the Allegheny County Coroners office as required; testifying in court as an expert witness regarding the findings and processing methods used at the scene; remains available to respond to reportable deaths on a 24 hour basis, as per schedule. EDUCATION: · A minimum of Bachelors in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required. · Masters in nursing with a forensic nursing specialization and a post masters certificate preferred. · Current Pennsylvania nursing and drivers license. SPECIAL SKILLS: · Two years of post licensure clinical experience in emergency/trauma and/or acute/critical care, and/or clinical forensic nursing or death investigation.
