In this assignment l shall concentrate on two characters and compare their similarities and differences. The play is about a school progress class trip to Wales. Children who are struggling to keep up with work in class are sent to “The Progress Class”.Reilly is a school pupil with a mischievous personality, attention seeking of teachers and demanding. While on the coach to Wales Reilly starts by tormenting Colin who is a male teacher, “Are you in love with her sir?” “Sir’s in love sir’s in love!” This referred to a female teacher who’s name was Susan. Reilly never admits he’s wrong and thinks highly of himself saying that the teacher “Susan” fancied him when she really told him off, “You’d be better of with me miss, I’m better lookin and sexier.” This attitude is not used just to teachers but towards other people as well. Reilly likes to think he’s in control. After snatching a child’s sweets he tells him, “I’ll stunt your growth!” When it comes to Reilly’s future he leaves school in the summer but doesn’t know what to do.
