Many people admired Abraham Lincoln in his hometown. They always called him “honest Abe.” He was born February 12, 1809. Many people have said he was and is one of the greatest men of all times. Abraham Lincoln was very tall, nearly six feet four inches. He was very thin. He rarely went to school, but he never stopped studying. He was a learner all his life. Samuel Lincoln was the first of the Lincoln family to come to America. Abraham Lincolns father, Thomas Lincoln, was born in 1778. Thomas was a farmer, and then later on the mean old Indians killed him. Before he was killed, he learned to become a carpenter.
