In Shakespeare’s time the relationship between a mother and a son were very sacred. In the play “Hamlet”, the relationship between Gertrude and Hamlet is a more peculiar relationship between the both of them. In the three versions of “Hamlet” each portrayed the relationship between Gertrude and Hamlet, in a different way.
In the first version of “Hamlet” the relationship of Hamlet and Gertrude did not seem to be much of a mother son relationship. Gertrude didn’t seem much concern with the death of King Hamlet, there relationship seem to be more of a brother-sister relationship.
