Family Narrative Everyone has had an event that changed their life forever. As for our family, we’ve had several. In India, life was hard but making mistakes in India was even harder. My parents lived there for at least twenty-seven years and never made the same mistake twice. Mistakes which they made changed their lives forever. As people grow, they tend to make mistakes, and the more mistakes they make, the more their life changes. For example, in India my dad owned a tin company, where he manufactured metal; throughout the city of Bombay. He was a business owner for about seven years, working with the same people as when he first started. During that time my dad was married to my mom and I was about four years old. My mom was in a partnership with my dad, sot to speak, for my mom handled all the money that came in and took to invest it. My dad just ran the company and payed debts to the people he owed, so they were married and a team at the same time. Later on, my dad started being kind-hearted and started trusting everybody. Random people came to my dad asking for money and loans, promising to pay him back. The suppliers that he worked with for seven years started backstabbing him. They overpriced on parts, asked for the money beforehand, and weren’t being truthful. My dad never realized what was going on till people never showed up after taking the money. My dad spent well over twenty thousand dollars just on parts he never received, helped countless people who were having financial problems, and let his friends borrow money because they were struggling through life.
