Going to the movies can be an exciting event. The big room, all the people, the big screen, all of the special effects, the smell of freshly popped popcorn, all of these things can really make a movie going experience worthwhile. Keep in mind, this is not for everyone. Some choose to wait a bit longer and rent their movies from a video store. The same movie that could have been seen in a theatre can now be watched from the comforts of home. No having to stand in line for tickets or for entrance into the building. No having to pay some ridiculous fee for food and beverage. Thousands of musicians worked in northern New England theaters during the silent-film era.
