Such violent situations were changed into non-violent ones by an influential, meaningful and well-respected human being. (http://www2.lucidcafe.com/lucidcafe/library/95oct/mkgandhi.html). Gandhi was a person of much determination, inspiration and persuasion. He really showed people how to achieve what they want in life and to do it in a non-violent manner. Determination was shown by Gandhi throughout his life. He was battered down so many times by the government that he was determined to overcome. He was also determined to free Indian people from British rule after he was treated poorly and saw that others were treated the same way. He was also determined to make violent situations into non-violent ones by using the principles of Satyagraha, which were courage, non- violence and truth.
