Jamie Carman September 17, 2003 V. I. O. C. Valvoline Instant Oil Change is more than just an service center; it is a place of great customer service and excellent work performance. Valvoline has characteristics like no other: the smells, taste, sights, and sounds cannot be found in any other shops. Valvoline is not a job, but it is a great learning experience for employees and customers. As I walk into the service center, I notice how transparent all one-hundred and seven bay door windows are, and how the black Pirelli floor, shines like the moon in the dark midnight sky. The yellow boundary tape, inside each bay, glimmers from the degreaser used the night before. The pit holes are closed off with oil stained grates, and surrounding the pits, are red tire guards, which show their age with their faded color. On the third bay, I notice how clean it seems: the car lift lying flat on the floor, covering the dust and dirt only noticeable while the lift is raised. The lift is used twice a week, so it still has some original shine. Between bay one and two and also between bays two and three, sit the oil gun racks. There are eight holes in the oil gun racks that hold: windshield washer fluid, five different oil guns, automatic transmission fluid, and the air chuck.
