REDIRECTION: -These are lines of computer code that rewrite the table that indicates the location of files on disc so that the viral code is run on start up. APPEND VIRUSES: - These attach themselves to the end of program files which then act as carries. TROJAN HORSES: - Programs that masquerade as something else until activated; the user is sent a supposed helpful program through the mail, or as a download from the internet; when run it performs some other function in the system; these are not true viruses in that they are not self propagating. WORMS: - These are similar to a viruses, but no carrier is required; usually they are networked based and pass from computer to computer along cables.
