Male and Female Interaction, The Ultimate Quandary Frustrating, confusing, mind boggling are all words that describe interactions between men and women. Despite the dissatisfaction humans have an undeniable desire to have great relationships with the opposite sex. The associations may be friendships, business relationships, or marriages. Although these situations may differ, when it boils down to it people just want to be happy and comfortable with each other no matter their differences may be. It is possible to make too much out of the differences between men and women. But if a person wants positive interaction with the opposite sex, they must understand the uniqueness each gender brings to the relationship. It is obvious that men and women are different by design. They think differently, have different emotional needs, and make decisions differently. Men are natural problem solvers; they size up the “problem,” and formulate a solution. When they think, they consider what will make them most successful in their careers, hobbies, and relationships and develop a plan of action to complete these goals. These goals are not interrelated; men systematically cross one off the docket and move to the next one. After time a man will understand what decisions will work for him and try to apply them to as many different situations as possible to help him succeed. Through trial and error he will know what confuses him or makes him feel like a failure, and try his best to not apply those failures in daily life. For instance, “ [A] man whose career holds the possibility of success will spend more time at work at the expense of other priorities” (Farell 12). The success drive is why men find it easy to develop hobbies or activities to consume their time. They become emotionally attached to building, fixing, and chasing things. These projects become expressions of their personalities. Men feel best about themselves when they are solving problems.
