Taking Great Notes
Notes are an essential part of everyday life. Everybody, at one point in his or her life, will have to take notes. Notes help clarify certain information as well as allow people to notice key concepts and important information in a certain subject (Joyce Bishop 169). “Being prepared to take notes, how to record information, reviewing and revising, and summarizing are all important parts of the note taking process” (Bishop 169)
In order to take notes you must have the proper materials. ... Once you are comfortable, decide how you will take your notes (Bishop 170).
Many people choose to take notes by using a notebook and a pen or pencil. Note taking in this manner allows people to reflect what is heard during lectures (Bishop 172). Also, later on, these notes will be used as a resource for many reasons which include “studying, writing future assignments, and also comparing the notes to what is written in texts.
