The first sight of Elie loosing his faith occurred when he arrived at Auschwitz. ... Revolt rose up inside of Elie and he questioned God. ... From this point on Elie had a dramatic change of thought towards God, Elie could not believe what was happening.

As time went by, Elie questioned his faith in God more and more. Around Rosh Hashana, the New Year, all the Jews gathered together to say prayers to God. But, Elie questions God for allowing all these terrible things to happen to them when they lived their lives for Him.
