The essay “On Dumpster Diving” by Lars Eighner was very intriguing and fascinating to read. It shed light on a topic which I knew very little about prior to reading this piece. The composition tells about one man’s struggles and the way he survives without a home or a job. His source of food, clothes, and all other possessions is the art he calls “Dumpster diving,” which is essentially rummaging through dumpsters on the street. The author could have written this piece in several different manners. He could have made it a sob story, attempting to make people feel sorry for him.
