Obstacles need to be overcome in my life in order to achieve my personal goals of achieving my degree. The realization of procrastination, poor time management and bad study skills are leading me in a direction of failure if I do not choose to correct them before I begin my journey. John Perry (1995) states, “All procrastinators put off things they have to do…the idea is that procrastinating does not mean doing absolutely nothing. Procrastinators seldom do absolutely nothing; they do marginally useful things, like gardening or sharpening pencils or making a diagram of how they will reorganize their files when they get around to it,” I not only emulate this definition, I drip it. I get only motivated by the due date and wait until I can’t wait any longer for those ever important things to do in my life. I have taken on this challenge by breaking down any project that I may have into manageable parts and assigning priorities and deadlines. My days are then governed by these priorities and I do not stray from them. I begin with completing my easy priorities first, because this gives me a sense of completion and warms my brain up for the upcoming tasks that lay ahead of me.
