It goes without saying that US President George Bush, among others, is preparing an attack on Iraq. The United States inevitable War against Iraq is a topic being discussed or worried about by most. This is not surprising when you see the figures and documents stating that a war against Iraq and its aftermath could injure more than 500,000 Iraqis, halt the countrys oil production and create nearly a million refugees. President Bush is trying to trick his country into thinking that an attack on Iraq is the only possible solution to the terrorist threat using blatant propaganda, such as the current information suggesting that duct tape could save someone’s life in the event of a war. A war on Iraq would be a gross mistake on the part of the US Government, and as world citizens it is our responsibility to start asking questions.
Any currently planned attack on Iraq would be a violation of several provisions of the Charter of the United Nations, beginning with Article 1, Section 4, which states: All members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.
