Print: La Tercera Oct. 1, 2003, “Bolivian syndicates paralyze the capital” Broadcast: Bolivia, TVN news Oct. 2, 2003 On-line: El Mercurio on-line edition, Oct 2, 2003, (www.emol.com) The story covered in the different types of media is about the problems that Bolivia has been having in their country concerning their natural gas resources and how can they import it to Canada since they do not have access to the coast, because of that Chile and Peru offered there services to help Bolivia get sea access, but Bolivia is demanding that Chile has to give them a port so that they could have sea access, Chile told them that they will not give them a part of the country but that the would help in anyway they can, this was not an option for Bolivia that now are having inside problems between the government and the people, this is a very important issue because it can bring a lot of problems all over Latin America. The differences in presentation and tone were really amazing, in the newspaper it was presented with a huge picture of a riot in La Paz and they kind of made fun of the situation, but still managing to keep it serious, regarding the sea access problem because they considered it a really not necessary demand.
