In this essay I will compare two pieces of architecture, Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids at Giza. The essay will compare and contrast the works as well as supply information concerning each object’s social, cultural, and or technical features. Stonehenge came into existence sometime around 2750-1500 B.C.E. on the Salisbury Plain, in Wiltshire England. The time period of this mysterious creation was the Neolithic era. The Great Pyramids at Giza came about between 2613-2494 B.C.E. and they are situated in Egypt. They too like Stonehenge have a significant amount of mysterious aura behind them. When observing the physical structures both the Henge and Pyramids are made of stone, but the brand of stones do differ. Stonehenge was prepared with sandstone, while the Pyramids are constructed of granite and limestone. When placing side by side the geometric makeup of the structures, the Pyramids at Giza are of a triangular shape versus Stonehenge’s circular shape.
