Archimedes was a Greek philosopher who was asked to solve a problem. That problem was to determine whether the king’s crown was really solid gold. He solved this problem using a highly advanced, for it’s time, method called water displacement. He never knew it but he would solve the problem of the king’s crown in a very odd way, using soap and a bathtub. When the king decided to get a crown made, he searched for the best blacksmith. The one he found promised him a crown made out of solid gold to replace his old one. The blacksmith he chose was unknown because he had just came there to start working. He promised the king that he would do the best job and that he was very good.
