The Government plays a very important role in ensuring that the standard of English in Malaysia improves. Lately, the standard of English in Malaysia has declined so much that it’s quite worrying for the future of the country. ... The first project comprises of 32 District English Language Coordinators, who are assigned to work out of the Education Offices of medium sized provincial towns. Their job is to liaise with District Officers, School Heads, as well as English teachers on determining the problems that are being faced by both students and teachers in the effective learning of the English Language. These coordinators are also examining ways to encourage students to enjoy the language as well as to motivate them to improve their English. ... The second project is known as the ten CfBT Project English Teachers, who work in Government residential secondary schools for gifted students.
