The 1920’s, the mark of the “modern era”, some historians would say. Finally the war was over, and after Woodrow Wilson’s leadership ended, America shifted toward private economic enterprise and personal creativity. In this new era America faced many changes, some for the better and some for the worse. During this time many new issues were faced and conflict was caused by the acceptance of modernism. Shortly after Warren G. Harding was elected president, the 19th amendment was brought forth. This fulfilled nearly a hundred years of struggle to achieve political rights for women. This amendment finally gave women the right to vote.
