This article called Immortal Skin, from the August 2001 addition of Popular Science, is about a woman, Lynn Allen-Hoffmann, who found a skin cell that keeps on dividing. These skin cells may someday help burn victims. ... She spent over a decade researching and studying the biology of skin cells. She studies how they divide to make new skin. What she does is grow skin cells, in the lab, which usually only last 15 weeks then she starts over. ... They had no idea what they were going to do with this until they got a call from a doctor saying that the skin could possibly be used to treat burn victims. ... They have found none so far and realized that the new skin cells may be able to be used on burn victims.
