The set of punctuation marks IŸ in the Chinese language can be divided into two main groups: и--to indicate the type and function of a word. (u v y z) - to indicate a quotation, the double quotation mark y z is used to indicate a quotation within a quotation (i.e. quotation marks). A (] ^) - to indicate additional note (i.e. bracket). }鸚 (w) - to introduce additional note or further explanation within a sentence and to indicate a sudden change of context. ٲ (KK) - to indicate the part of the text/sentence which has been ignored.
