One of the most important keys to understanding communication is that much of it is not expressed verbally or cannot be expressed verbally. According to studies conducted by Randall Harrison, non-verbal signals carry more than 65% of all social meaning in interpersonal communication. Research also indicates that nonverbal cues non-verbal cues may influence people more strongly than spoken words.
