There are many issues and arguments about the current state of Scottish football these days, but none more controversial than over, Rangers and Celtic, crossing the border and going to ply their trade in the English Premiership. ... Another argument for the amalgamation of the Auld Firm is the fact that they hardly play any Scottish players in their team. ... This would then encourage the teams to go out and buy better players, which would then improve the calibre of the Scottish game and show that there is life outwith the Auld Firm. ... I do not support either of the Auld Firm teams, but why move from success to failure; it just seems like a move in the wrong direction.
So I have given you reasons for and against the Auld Firm moving to England. ... I don’t care if my team never win the league, I don’t care if they never win the cup either but to lose the passion, the commitment, the effort that is given to trying to beat the Auld Firm would be criminal.
