Introduction:

In today’s world, in any business organization network is a major concern for that organization as it is directly related to the organization’s performance. And recording performance statistics of that network is considered to be a vital task of the network manager. Previously recorded performance statistics is a good choice for the network manager to make management decision properly for future planning as well as considering new ideas.

Network Management:
Network management is a service that employs a variety of tools, applications, and devices to assist human network managers to keep the network running smoothly and efficiently. Theres more to network management than the management of network components. So, in other words, network management defines the connection between the network and the systems, applications, and business services that run on it. Therefore, it is more important for a business organization to understand the status and performance of business-relevant services in the running network.
Performance statistics:

Performance statistics is nothing but to keep information about the network.
The goal of keeping performance statistics is to measure and make available various aspects of network performance so that the network performance can be maintained at an acceptable level. It helps the network manager to understand the current state of the network such as quality of service, load balancing, scalability of the network.




Advantages of using prior statistics:

It will be very helpful for the network manager to make management decision for future planning when they consider prior statistics of the network along with other ideas to take the decision. Some of the advantageous issues are stated below:

     Effective planning: In order to plan effectively, network manager needs as much information as possible. So, in this case prior statistics can be useful information for the network manager to plan effectively.


     Maintain network balance: To make the network static, the network balance should be maintained. Network balance includes two influences: internal influences and external influences. These forces acting on the network are dynamic i. ... In order to balance the network, the network manager needs the prior statistics to be considered.


     Increase network performance: Using prior statistics helps the network manager to increase performance of the network. As for an example we can say that based on prior statistics a new feature or service such as printer can be added to the current network which may increase the functionality of the organization, hence increase the performance of the network.
